palamides GmbH presents its new Collect To Box solutions at drupa 2024 tradeshow
Renningen, Germany – May 15, 2024 – palamides GmbH, the leading provider of automated deliveries and stackers for the printing industry, in collaboration with Popp Maschinenbau GmbH, announces the launch of two outstanding solutions, the Collect To Box (CTB) Pallet Maker and Collect To Box (CTB) Carton Maker.
These solutions will be showcased at the drupa 2024 tradeshow (Hall 6 F22), these innovations represent a significant advancement in postpress operations, optimizing efficiency and flexibility in print production processes.
Collect To Box
Collect to Box is a modular system for placing print products on pallets, in corrugated cardboard containers or standard shipping cartons. CTB thus aims to automate all manual activities following the production machine.
CTB is adapted to customer requirements through various modules and interface solutions, while open to future expansions. Key features of the CTB are the patented palamides belt gripper and the solution developed by Popp Maschinenbau for opening, filling and sealing shipping cartons. “These components are combined in a wide variety of configurations, so the optimal solution for the customer is achieved,” said Stefano Palamides, Managing Director, palamides GmbH.
CTB Pallet Maker Basic
The CTB Pallet Maker Basic places stacks of products on pallets or in corrugated cardboard containers. This flexibility is made possible using the palamides belt gripper (patent pending), which does not require any space to pull out a gripper.
Thanks to the mobile robot cell, the Pallet Maker "Basic" is suitable for use with folding machines, saddle stitchers and mailing lines. Equipped with a powerful and robust industrial robot and an intermediate layer feeder installed as standard, it is easy to handle and can be moved with little effort.
The Pallet Maker "Basic" intentionally includes an industrial robot. The simple, transparent enclosure of the robotic arm eliminates the risk of injury and allows the robot to operate at maximum speed. There is also no difference in space requirements compared to collaborative solutions.
CTB Carton Maker
The CTB Carton Maker takes flat shipping cartons that have not yet been erected, closes the base and fills the shipping cartons with product stacks. The contents are then compacted and the shipping carton lid is closed automatically. This system takes over highly complex and previously mainly manual activities and processes.
The filled and closed cartons can be placed onto a conveyor belt or on a pallet by the robotic arm.
The Carton Maker combines the capabilities of the palamides patented belt gripper with the intelligent carton handling solutions developed by Popp.
